The Big Green Gathering is situated in the beautiful Mendip hills, close to the Cheddar Gorge (above). It is the largest green festival devoted to sustainable technologies. It is powered entirely by solar and wind energy. There is also a lot of good music happening but this photography review will show it's more mundane aspects, i.e. the skills we will need for our survival when the effects of global warming strike, as well as some nice general photos of this years event.

There are many views on what will happen. For example, Professor James Lovelock, one of our most highly decorated scientists, says that our power systems will fail at some point, all floating ice on the planet will be gone by the middle of this century (with corresponding rise in the sea level), and by the year 2100, 90% of the human race will be no more - gulp!

While the power seeking governments of the world fight over petro-chemical energy resources, here you will find the kind of knowledge and skills which will enable us to make the best of our new and frightening global situation.
